VITRO™ ™ recertified for ISO9001,
ISO27001:2005

ePLDT’s VITRO™ ™ Data Center, the first purposely-built
data center in the country, adds another feather to its cap
with its successful recertification for the ISO9001:2000 Quality
Management and ISO27001:2005 Information Security standards.
VITRO™ ™’s latest feat comes just less than a year after
the data center was granted accreditation by the Philippine
Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
VITRO™ ™ achieved its second ISO 9001 as well as its first BS7799
certifications in 2005. With BS7799 upgraded to become ISO27001:2005,
VITRO™ ™ underwent a recertification audit for both standards.
This was conducted by AJA Registrars, Inc., a renowned certification
body accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Services
(UKAS).
The ISO9001:2000 and ISO27001:2005 international standards,
both of which has worldwide acceptance, guarantee that VITRO™ ™
complies with global data center specifications and operations.
The ISO 9001:2000 standard provides a framework for an effective
quality management system. On the other hand, ISO27001:2005
defines information security management requirements, such
as confidentiality and integrity, which will help companies
establish or certify their own organization’s Information
Security Management System (ISMS).
Achieving an ISO27001:2005 certification reflects a company’s
strong commitment to managing information security. “This
certification helps us earn the trust and confidence of customers
by making certain that we employ only the best information
security management practices,” said VITRO™ ™ General Manager
Dave Simon. “And our combined accreditation for the
ISO27001:2005 Information Security standard and ISO 9001:2000
